Year-on-year growth increases to 4.0% in Q3

⁠Non-oil sector grew 3.1%, driven by robust performance in Real Estate, Finance and Manufacturing

Total Inward Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) stock increased by 5.8% YoY to reach a total of BHD 17.5Bn for 2025

The Ministry of Finance and National Economy has today released the Bahrain Economic Quarterly Report for Q3 2025 on its website www.mofne.gov.bh.

According to preliminary national accounts data released by the Information and eGovernment Authority, real GDP grew by 4.0% YoY in Q3 2025, driven by a 3.1% growth in non-oil activities and a 9.3% increase in oil activities.

Among non-oil activities in real terms, Real Estate recorded the highest growth at 5.4%, followed by Financial and Insurance activities at 5.0%. Transportation and Storage, and Construction each recorded growth of 4.4%. While Manufacturing grew by 3.9%, followed by Wholesale and Retail Trade at 3.3%. Information and Communication grew by 2.1%, while Accommodation and Food Services increased by 1.5%.

The report also highlighted the key role of the non-oil sector in Bahrain’s economy, which  contributed 85.0% to real GDP in Q3 2025.

The report also highlighted growth in foreign investment, with Inward Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) stock rising by 5.8% YoY in Q3 of 2025, bringing the total to BHD 17.5Bn.

Additionally, the Kingdom continues to make notable progress across several international economic and development indicators, reflecting the country’s success in economic diversification and efforts to strengthen its business environment. The Kingdom of Bahrain was ranked third globally in Dispute Resolution, according to the Business Ready (B-READY) 2025 report published by the World Bank. Bahrain also ranked first in the GCC and second among Arab countries in terms of economic freedom, according to the Economic Freedom of the World 2025 report published by the Fraser Institute. While the Kingdom continues to lead the MENA region in combatting human trafficking, having earned a Tier-1 classification for the eighth consecutive year. This makes Bahrain the only country in the region to achieve this classification, according to the Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report 2025 issued by the US Department of State.
